Shellshocked

Well, we've done it - for better or worse, we've moved house, we have a home! Rather scarily everything seems to have gone relatively smoothly. Most companies have done what they are meant to do (not all, but certainly the majority) without too much shouting at robots on phones. Moving day was an experience not to be repeated for quite a while though. Despite a weather forecast predicting cool, rainly weather, we had what was probably the hottest days of the year; At least it felt that way whilst dragging ridiculously heavy items of furniture and boxes of crap and lifting them onto a very high, but rickety van which looked like it had been in use during the 50s. But, with the help of several friends (to whom we are eternally grateful, we couldn't have managed without them) our three van loads of crap was finally deposited onto our dining room floor. We had several panicky days where we thought we'd have to throw much of it away just to find our dining room floor again, but, low and behold, thanks to large numbers of cubby holes and huge wardrobes we've found the floor again. Quite an achievement! However, the pair of us are now so exhausted we can do little else but sit in front of the TV drooling eating ice-cream. I had forgotten just how bad my ME could get, but am being given a harsh reminder right now. My asthma isn't much better either, so my desire to get the house how we want it by yesterday at the latest seems unlikely to come to fruition. Impatience sucks big time! But, despite that, it is great that Sandy and I finally have somewhere we can feel at home and safe. (Am still a bit concerned about how I'm going to cope with Sandy's socks though!)

Huge thanks again to all those who have helped us and thought about us.

moving is, to me, one of the levels of hell. really high up. right there with scraping wallpaper. sadly, i've moved 16 times in the last 10 years.
and i'll be doing it again before long, as my house is getting demolished!

well done, though. much happiness and contentment is wished on you both!

onto business - time has reared it's ugly head at me. most alarmingly. the summer filming schedule has been one of stress, little ego spats (bloody teens and barely 20-somethings...), broken commitments and holidays. for other people, that is.
anyway. i now have til october 14th to complete this picture. we have approxomately half the film shot - though i feel there may be reshoots needed once i get chance to start putting together a rough cut.
anyway. given it looks like 7 weeks or so, i'm planning a tight timetable of shoots, then post production of editting, sound mixing and music.
and thats where your very good self comes in.
it would be most great if i could meet with you sometime this week soon and go through some tings - probly very brief at the mo. what i'd like to do would be to give you a dvd with some cut together scenes on, notes on where music cues are needed, and then have a time when i can come and see or hear your plucking wonderment.
i'm needing somethnig the same with aurellian, sadly i've not been able to find a violinist.
i know term is starting up again (did you say you're returning to uni this year?) but i'd be greateful, a least to know if you're unable to.
like i'ev said from the start, the music needed is minimal and quite simple. a handful, maybe four, cues. something sad, lonesome, somethnig plodding and melancholic, something mysterious and almost magical, and something representing emptiness. from those four themes (lonely, plodding, mystery, empty) variations can be brought out - different key, on piano etc.
each cue is probably only about a minute or so long.
anyway. my mobile is 07751201906. will be delighted to see and work with ye!!

That won't be a problem at all. It would actually be much easier to work on the music if I've got some scenes to work from - am really looking forward to it actually. I also have an unfortunate habit of making people cry when I sing and play (am not sure if that is an endorsement really!), so the lonely, plodding and empty shouldn't be a problem. Will work on the mystery for you. Our home number is 01642 612333.
